About Our Farm

Overstory Farm is a regenerative family farm located in Wilamina, Oregon that is dedicated to growing flavourful, nutrient-rich crops that nourish both people and the planet. Our focus crops—American Elderberries and chestnuts—are perennial foods that thrive in an agroforestry system. Our practices mimic nature, support biodiversity and produce the highest quality product.

For us, farming is more than production; it is relationship-building with soil, water, pollinators, and our community. By choosing our farm products, you’re supporting agriculture that promotes biodiversity and offers premium, organic food and medicine.

The Farmers

The Farmers

We are Rowan and Pritha, co-stewards of Overstory Farm. In addition to being total plant nerds, we have worked for years in the local community to advance sustainable agriculture. Rowan has worked to help launch the next generation of sustainable farmers and Pritha has worked in food justice and education. With our combined knowledge in horticulture and ecological restoration, we use science and art to grow crops that reflect our values: sustainability, resilience, and nourishment.

Elderberries

American elderberries (Sambucus canadensis) are resilient plants native to North America that have provided medicine to people for millennia. Elderberries have long been known for supporting immune health, reducing inflammation, and providing potent antioxidants that protect the body from oxidative stress.
